Shaving With ‘Dollar Shave Club.’ #AD

You can skip my Dollar Shave Club review and just follow the link straight away to get your very own starter kit.

Just about everyone you know has to shave hair off some part of their body and do so regularly. So, I’m sure you’ve realised that razor blades are one of the most expensive products on the face of the Earth. It’s almost as if the companies who make them are off digging up Middle Earth or extracting it from the bones of some mythical creature to find the metal for their razor blades.

In the past, I was always been a huge fan of the more traditional way to shave over an electric style. It seems to always bring me out a shaving rash, which isn’t a good look. So I always became a victim to the heightened prices and often find myself using cheaper disposable blade in order to save some money.

That’s where Dollar Shave Club comes in. A subscription package where you get razors and cartridges right to your door. It’s not a bad way to come in either.

A simple yet stylish box arrived containing their £8 starter kit. The original price for this starter kit is £15. You can also get 20% off your second and third set of razors and replacement blades only £8 a month

So you’re getting a unbelievable deal before you’ve even recieved the box. The main subscription box you’d received upon subscribing would contain four cartridges and a free magazine. One blade is claims to last you one week, depending on how often you shave of course.

If you fancy getting your hands on one, please follow the link at the top or the bottom of the page.

First impressions of the razor itself are good. It feels quite heavy which would put some people off but I think it gives it a premium feel and it looks smart too.

I’ve been growing my beard over the last few months, after finally given in to my wife. She’s spent the whole eight years we’ve been together convincing me that it would look good if I let it grow. I’ve always preferred the clean shaven look but I’ve finally given in and I am now growing my beard and If I’m honest I kind of like it.

So, when I got the opportunity to test the Dollar Shave Club I was a little reluctant. So for the purpose of this review I am going to see how close the shave is around the neck line and on the moustache. I can’t bring myself to shave the whole thing off.

The six stainless steel blade system took the hair straight off in no time, leaving my face lovely and smooth. It didn’t get clogged up with hair like some of the disposable blades I used in the past, which made the whole job much quicker and easier. The blades clip on and off the razor so you can keep them out of the reach of little hands if you wanted too.

The other products included in the starter kit are;

  • Dr. Carver’s Easy Shave Butter (Full size).
  • Dr. Carver’s Post Shave Dew (Trial size).

All in all, a great experience. The box included some extra blade too, so I’m good for a while. I’d definitely recommend the Dollar Shave Club!

Would I make any changes at all? Absolutely not! I’d be moaning If I did and that’s not me.

*This post, even though it was sponsored by Dollar Shave Club, it is my honest opinion. Hope you enjoyed it!*
